If you’re going to sit through the long flight to Australia, why not see all that the country has to offer?

There’s plenty to visit, from Sydney to the Great Barrier Reef — but you can dive into something even more exotic. Northern Territory Tourism has partnered with Qantas to give Americans free one-way flights to Australia’s Outback.

The “Fly Free to the Outback” program will get you a free flight from Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane to Darwin, Alice Springs, or Uluru. The only qualification is that travelers must book at least a two-night stay in the Northern Territory from a travel provider like Qantas Vacations, Down Under Answers, Goway, Aspire Down Under, or About Australia.

It shouldn’t be hard to hit the two-night minimum. There’s plenty to see and do in the Outback. Uluru, or Ayers Rock, is Australia’s largest natural landmark. The 1,142-foot-tall, vibrant red landmass is considered a spiritual destination for indigenous Australians and is thought to date back 550 million years. At the moment, Uluru is also home to artist Bruce Munro’s “Field of Light” installation that covers the land with more than 50,000 glowing glass orbs.

Outdoorsy travelers can trek to Nitmiluk National Park, with 13 gorges carved from ancient sandstone. Not only does the park have waterfalls and lush rainforests, visitors can paddle past Aboriginal rock art.

Those who want to visit the Outback’s more rugged side can travel to Alice Springs. It’s possible to book a camel ride through the orange terrain or learn about the environment with a nocturnal tour at Alice Springs Desert Park.

Travelers must book by July 31 for travel through December 31 to take advantage of the deal.
